An Antioxidant To Prevent Diabetes Complications

More Details on the Study

For this study, a team of researchers fed a group of mice in order to have high level of blood sugar and enriched with the nutrient, fisetin. The mice have not experienced any improvement on the level of their blood sugar, however researchers noted that there was a dramatic reduction on the complications relating to diabetes.

The mice fed with fisetin have been found to be less likely to develop hypertrophy, which is a kidney enlarging condition and have lower level of protein on their urine, which is a clear sign of kidney damage. In addition, the animals have been less likely to suffer from neurological complications, which includes nerve damages and psychological conditions such as anxiety.
