5. Severe headaches
Sudden onset of severe headaches is another symptom of dengue fever. The headaches are caused by a few factors. It can caused by the high fever itself or a result of dehydration due to persistent vomiting and sweating. The headache may last the duration of the illness plus extra days if the patient is not dehydrating from vomiting, bleeding and sweating.
6. Fatigue
Fatigue caused by dengue fever is otherwise known as post-infectious fatigue syndrome. Fatigue is present at all stages of the disease but it is most prevalent after. The presence of chills and absence of rashes are associated with the development of fatigue post infectious syndrome. The severity level and amount of fatigue has no correlation. Other factors such as age and sex can cause levels of fatigue to fluctuate between patients.
