What is Strep Throat?

Strep Throat has no boundaries. It affects people of all ages and is most common in people with weak immune systems and growing immune systems like those of kids. It’s a painful bacterial infection caused by the bacteria known as Streptococcus pyogenes.

How Does it Spread?

Since this infection has no restrictions on its victims, it is contagious and spreads through everyday actions and interactions. It is highly contagious and spreads by simple touching actions, sneezing, coughing, and any other way the bacteria can survive the transference.

Sharing of Food

The infection can easily spread through saliva. During the initial stage of the infection, it is easy to pass off symptoms like a light cough or a minor headache. You may be sharing food or a drink with a friend or family member that has mild symptoms of the infection without knowing. You may sip from the same cup or straw, or bite the same sandwich. This is an immediate transference of the bacteria within a very short route.
