2. Dry Mouth

Having dry mouth is another symptom that appears in the early stage of Sjogren’s syndrome. It is also an easy symptom to detect in a patient. This symptom occurs due to the same reason as the dry eyes, where inflamed glands make it impossible for water to get into the mouth, which then leads to dryness.

Since there is not enough saliva in the mouth, the patient will suffer from various issues. If it gets severe, the tongue can become stuck onto the roof of the mouth. This condition is so much more intense than the feeling of being dehydrated. The affected person may start having a hoarse voice and experience changes in his or her taste preferences.
