3. Itching
Getting infected by a fungus that causes ringworm and desiccation of the skin may also cause you mild to severe itching. People with ringworm sometimes spread the infection unintentionally by scratching the affected part of the skin. Though it may bring temporary relief by scratching the skin, it is important to know that it may cause more harm than good.
Scratching must be avoided as it can damage the outer layers of the skin and may even lead to bacterial infections in some cases. Scratching is also the fastest way to transmit the fungus to a much healthier part of the skin, so it should be avoided.
