5. Absent Menstruation
Another PCOS symptom is Amenorrhea, a condition that refers to the absence of a menstrual period. If a woman has not had menstrual periods at all, this is considered primary amenorrhea. Meanwhile, secondary amenorrhea is when a woman had been menstruating previously but the period just stopped.
Not having any menstruation for six months and more is an indication that the PCOS is already severe. It signifies that the testosterone level has gone so high that it has totally impeded the menstruation period. When it comes to this, doctors will normally recommend the patient to undergo several tests to rule out some other conditions that may have triggered amenorrhea.
