1. Short-Term Loss of Memory

Most patients with dementia will suffer from all kinds of memory loss. One of the most telling symptoms is short-term memory loss. Short-term memory loss can be easily confused with absentmindedness but there is a clear distinction between the two. With this type of memory impairment, the patient will find it difficult to remember something that has taken place just a few minutes or a few hours ago. However, they can remember something that has taken place several years ago.
