Glaucoma is an eye disease where the optic nerve is damaged and can lead to a progressive and irreversible blindness. Diabetes is often accompanied by higher incidences of glaucoma because the optic nerve is usually sensitive to a high blood glucose.
Glaucoma can result in increased pressure in the eye, and can lead to eye pain as well as headaches. Headaches related to glaucoma is like a sharp and stabbing pain right above and behind the eye. It can come with blurred and sudden loss of vision, and sometimes accompanied with vomiting and nausea.
