Using Metformin for Diabetes
Metformin is more often being prescribed to adults. However, it can also be prescribed to kids more than ten years old on the advice of a medical specialist. While taking the medication, your doctor may ask you to monitor your blood sugar regularly. When necessary, your doses may vary. Do not take the medication without your doctor’s advice or prescription.
It is best to take Metformin along with a meal in order to minimize the side effects. The common side effects of this medicine are vomiting, stomach ache and diarrhea. Your doctor may recommend you to switch to another medication if you cannot tolerate the side effects.
