6. Endocarditis
Flu like symptoms can be one of the alerts to look for in Endocarditis. One can also experience night sweats, fatigue and chest pain while breathing. Another clue is shortness of breath. If this condition or inflammation is left untreated, it can be fatal. This condition is complex because it affects the heart; it can be caused by three different organisms. Yes, three types of bacteria can cause most of these complications. They are Staphylococcus aureus followed by Streptococci of the viridans group and coagulase negative Staphylococci!
Yet, even more disturbing is there are other variants such as Streptococci and Enterococci which can frequently cause endocarditis.
