5. Leaning Forward
One telling sign of spinal stenosis is having a tendency to lean forward. When the body is in pain, it is normal for the sufferer to involuntarily move in a particular way to alleviate the pain. Those who have spinal stenosis are no exception to this. There are a lot of cases wherein patients who have lumbar spinal stenosis are observed to be leaning forward intentionally and unintentionally at times as well.
Performing this particular move can ease the pain caused by the pressure in the nerves due to narrow spinal canals. When the body leans forward, it creates more room for the nerves to function. If you notice this symptom, avoid prolonged walking and standing up as it worsens the pain.
