3. Pain in the Neck
Having neck pain is another sign of spinal stenosis. When the diameter of the spinal canal becomes abnormally narrower than usual, it may cause pain or pressure in the neck. This is more common to patients that are in the older age group as the spinal cavity decreases its width over the course of time. This particular condition is called cervical stenosis.
Cervical stenosis is characterized by the narrowing of the spinal passage along the neck area caused by deterioration or shock. Since this symptom does not need urgent medical attention, it is often overlooked and develops into a spinal cord injury termed as myelopathy. Consult your physician if you observe a recurring or constant pain in the neck.
