5. Hair Loss

Hair loss can also be a sign and symptom of ringworm. Ringworm can develop onparts of the body where hair tends to grow such as the scalp, chin, and pubic region. When this happens, people who are infected suffer from hair loss while the rash advances.

Infection on the scalp, for instance, will start as a pimple-like bump that will scale and flake. This can make the hair fall out or break and may cause baldness on a particular spot. In a more severe case, it may also result in swelling of the lymph nodes in the affected area. It can cause loss of beard and eyebrows as well.
