8. Swelling of the Heel

Swelling of the heel is also a sign and symptoms of plantar fasciitis. Inflammation of the plantar fascia on one or both feet can also manifest on the outer layers of the skin or sole causing swelling of the heel. Though it is not a symptom that most people consider to be serious, having a swollen heel may cause a lot of discomforts especially when there is a need for the patient to wear closed footwear.

Swollen heels can also be aggravated by doing some activities that involve standing up for a long period of time or one that requires you to apply pressure on the heels. This symptom is a sign that your plantar fasciitis is developing in a more severe case.
