3. Night Sweats
Night sweat is another sign of perimenopause. Night sweats refer to excessive sweating, which is usually common at night and will sometimes wake the person in the middle of her sleep. The sweating is so extreme that the person will be drenched in sweat. This can happen even when the temperature is normal and not too warm and even if you are not covered with blankets.
Suffering from night sweats is distressing and frustrating, especially if it is accompanied by some other perimenopause symptoms, such as hot flashes. This makes it difficult for the patient to sleep well. If left untreated, it can lead to daytime sleepiness and irritability. Not getting enough sleep can also result in poor focus and inability to perform daily routines.
