2. Bleeding Easily
One of the symptoms of liver cirrhosis which is already at the advanced stage is excessive bleeding. About fifty percent of people with cirrhosis will develop varices, a condition where veins become enlarged or swollen. As the pressure in the portal vein system increases, the walls of the affected veins become thinner and this is what causes the veins to bleed.
Another reason behind the bleeding is the low level of platelets. In most cases, the platelet count of patients with cirrhosis is low, not only because the body does not produce enough but also because the platelets are trapped within the spleen. If the bleeding has become very excessive, immediate medical attention must be given to the patient.
