Epigastric pain is also a sign and symptom of h. pylori infection. This symptom of H. pylori is often mistaken as heartburn. Heartburn is a normal condition among many age groups and health types. It is usually not considered a serious health issue and often neglected until it goes away. Epigastric pain is a burning sensation that is felt in the center of the upper abdominal region.
Patients usually describe it as heartburn resulting in improper diagnosis. Most epigastric pain due to H. pylori is caused by dyspepsia or the inability to properly digest food in the stomach leading to a group of conditions such as burping, discomfort, nausea, heartburn, and more.
