6. Jaundice
Red blood cells produce a waste product called bilirubin. The red blood cells shed this waste, which may appear yellow if the amount is small or brown for larger amounts of waste. Jaundice usually shows up when the liver is inflamed. It shows up when the bile duct is blocked or inflamed.
The bilirubin builds up, which turns the skin and eyes a yellowish color. Dark urine and itching are also involved. If the jaundice is due to blockage, your doctor might opt for surgery to remove the blockage. Treating the cause of the jaundice will get rid of it.
