5. Superior Vena Cava Syndrome
One symptom of esophageal cancer is Superior vena cava syndrome, a term used to characterize collective symptoms which happen when there is a blockage in the blood flow to the heart. It can be observed in different cases and diseases. However, it is mostly due to cancers and illnesses such as severe lung neoplasm, aortic aneurysm, or esophageal cancer.
Sufferers of superior vena cava syndrome can often be distinguished by having a swollen face or limbs, protrusion of veins, shortness of breath, difficulty in swallowing, migraine, and more. Superior vena cava syndrome is not considered fatal but the fundamental cause for having it can be deadly.
