A blood clot in the leg is a serious medical condition and can cause severe secondary adverse effects. This is especially so when the blood clot flows through the artery and reaches the lungs. When a lump of blood from the deep veins of the leg travels to the blood vessels located in the lungs, a condition called Pulmonary Embolism takes place. This acute complication may even branch out to more hazardous symptoms. Here are 10 common signs and symptoms of blood clot in leg.

1. Inflammation

Blood clot may result in sudden protuberance or noticeable swollen parts of the body where a lump is present. When this happens, it will be hard for the bones and tissues of the affected body part to break up or destroy the blood clots. The most common sign of blood clot in leg is deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and inflammation of the legs as well as the surrounding areas of calf and ankle can be observed.

Once you have noticed this symptom, some home remedies can be done such as applying a hot or cold compress to the impacted area; however, doctor consultation is highly recommended.
