4. Enlarged Lymph Nodes

Lymph nodes are part of our immune system and function as a filter for foreign and dangerous substances in the body like viruses and cancer cells. There are multiple lymph nodes that are located on different parts of the body.

People who have esophageal cancer may experience a change in their lymph nodes when it comes to its size and number. This change is medically known as lymphadenopathy. When someone develops lymphadenopathy due to esophageal cancer, it mostly affects the lymph nodes located just above the left collarbone called Virchow’s nodes. Those who have malignant adenoma and ovarian cancer may also suffer from lymphadenopathy.
