7. A headache
Ear infections will not only trigger symptoms in the ear but the adjacent areas as well, such as the head. Therefore, it is not surprising that persons with ear infection often develop a headache. The headache usually occurs once the ear are swollen. This will produce a throbbing sensation which can also be felt in some areas in the head.
The throbbing will also be felt in the ear canal and this can also cause pain. Once the bacteria and fluid start to buildup, you may start to feel stiffness and pain in the neck. This can also affect the muscles in shoulders.
