3. Visual Impairments

You may or may not develop diplopia. Another name for this visual impairment is double vision. You may have varying degrees of visual loss or become temporarily legally blind. Your eyes may become very sensitive to light. You may experience gradual vision loss. You may experience a decrease in visual acuity, clarity, sharpness or peripheral acuity. In fact, some people may suddenly lose their vision, and are sent to the hospital emergency room.

When your doctor finds no definite underlying diagnosis for your vision problems and all eye exams are negative, the diagnosis of conversion disorder is strongly considered as the reason for your vision problems.
