9. Failure to Make Friends
It is difficult for kids with Asperger syndrome to make friends and this is mainly due to their inability to understand social cues. In addition, the emotional toll that social interactions can give them can greatly affect their ability to foster friendships with other kids. And because they often have a tendency to focus on a single topic of interest or hobby, they will find it hard to look for friends who share the same interests as them.
Sometimes, kids who have the condition are misdiagnosed as having ADD or Attention Deficit Disorder. There are also instances when doctors will diagnose them as having a mental health condition. As a result, they will not be given proper treatment and will continue to suffer from social anxiety.
