5. Reduced Empathy
One of the most common signs of Asperger syndrome is the apparent lack of empathy, which is why it is difficult for the patient to navigate social situations. A lot of these patients cannot correctly detect the emotion of another person and they can not comprehend perspectives.
Because of this, they usually end up misinterpreting social situations and cannot keep up with conversations that involve grief, sadness, and those that require intense emotions. For instance, children diagnosed with Asperger syndrome will not understand why they are being scolded for talking loudly or laughing at situations when they are not supposed to.
