Those who have Asperger syndrome tend to speak very loudly, sometimes using strange phrasing. The transition of their speech is sometimes abrupt, moving faster from one thought to another. This is especially the case if they are directly talking about their beliefs and interests.

The individual’s lack of social awareness will also cause them to engage in monologues concerning topics in which others will not find interesting. They will not recognize that the person to whom they are talking to is not interested to listen. A lot of kids who have Asperger syndrome tend to develop vocabularies that seem sophisticated for their age, yet they will have trouble understanding figurative speech since they would prefer literal usage.
