10. Edema
Lower right quadrant pain, nausea, vomiting, fever and a disinterest in eating, at this point most people should be heading to their local hospital emergency department. Along with these symptoms comes stomach swelling. The body also sends fluids to the site of inflammation to, in essence, put out the fire. Fluids start gathering and if the appendix is unable to deal with the inflammation and then bursts, it can send very dangerous bacteria into the abdomen, so swelling is a sign not to be ignored whatsoever. Hopefully, by the time this happens, a patient is already in a hospital seeking treatment.
