2. Inflammation
Once inflammation of the appendix is occurring, as a result of this invader, the problems are just beginning. Appendicitis can be caused by more than corn, however. Various infections, such as virus or parasites in your digestive tract, or at other times a tumor or trapped stool can cause this problem. Rest assured, however, that corn is a relatively unknown sponsor of lots of cases of appendicitis. Once infected, the appendix becomes swollen and sore. It is a very small organ living in a small space in the right iliac of the abdomenopelvic region, so the potential for it to rupture is evident.
Appendicitis is a medical emergency and it almost always requires surgery. It generally affects people between the age of 10 and 30, and appendicitis is very rare in those younger than 2.
