4. Drape a warm towel over your head

This remedy can also serve as an alternative to a humidifier. It produces the same effect in relieving stuffy nose and sore throat. To do this, you need to first bring a pot of water to a boil. Next, soak the towel in a mixture of hot water and room temperature water. You may mix the water according to your desired temperature. Then drape a towel over your head, covering your nose and mouth.

Inhale the steam from the hot towel. Breathe deeply as you inhale the steam. You may also add a couple of drops of peppermint oil, or eucalyptus oil to help break up the congestion in your nose. You can do this as many times as you want to help get rid of the congestion and help you breathe easier.
