4. Cruciferous vegetables
They confer enormous health benefits and few complications. These encompass all of the veggies kids hate eating: e.g. cauliflower, kale, brussels sprouts and cabbage. These foods are famous for fighting cancer and bolstering the immune system. Full of carotenoids, vitamin C, folate and minerals, cruciferous vegetables are off the diverticulitis diet because — can you guess? — they are an excellent fiber source. Actually, they do have another drawback: they generate uncomfortable gas in the intestines.

Furthermore, they are difficult to digest under regular conditions, and may ferment and even rot before being evacuated from the digestive system.
