The Link Between Diabetes and Hypertension

Hypertension Treatment With Medication

Medication for blood pressure is highly recommended for diabetes patients whose blood pressure level is consistently high. However, you should not rely on medication alone. Doctors will also suggest that you make lifestyle changes and quit habits that are triggers.

Most people with hypertension may need to continue taking the medications for the rest of their lives. The only exception is when the blood pressure level has been fully controlled as a result of some major lifestyle changes, like losing a significant amount of weight, exercising religiously and being consistently active.
