7. Swollen Lymph nodes
Contact the Epstein-Barr virus can result in a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are bean-shaped glands located throughout your body. Lymph nodes are part of the Lymph system, which helps your body fight off diseases. The lymph nodes filter lymph fluid and trap bacteria, viruses, and other substances, which are destroyed by special white blood cells once trapped. Your lymph nodes swell when your body is fighting off an infection because they are producing more immune cells to fight off the infection.
