Although most types of pneumonia can trigger high fever, dry cough and mucus, walking pneumonia will only cause very low fever alongwith dry cough. Sometimes, the dry cough will produce a small amount of mucus that may also be tinged with blood, which is contrary to a wet cough that produces a large volume of phlegm.
In most cases, infections like flu or cold will trigger dry cough along with other related symptoms such as irritation, breathing difficulty, and in some instances, dizziness. Drinking tea with honey and lemon may help. Elevating your head when sleeping can also help to relieve dry cough.
