8. Dry Cough
A dry cough is another symptom that is not only exclusive to Sjogren’s syndrome. Many factors could lead to dry cough, which is why doctors will find it difficult to diagnose a patient with Sjogren’s syndrome based on dry cough alone. If you will see your doctor and you complain about having a dry cough, he will not immediately think of it as being due to Sjogren’s syndrome.
For some patients with Sjogren’s syndrome, their cough often gets worse during windy weather or if they are on areas with poor quality of air. Even small changes on the air pressure and temperature could spur coughing fits for these patients, including the presence of a fan.
