Fever is another sign of a bacteria infection such as salmonellosis. This is a result of the body’s immune response to fight the invading bacteria. During which, our body increases its temperature between two to seven degrees. This can help to inhibit the growth of salmonella bacteria and create an environment in the body that is less favorable for it. Fever can also help to enhance the ability of some immune cells to fight the salmonella bacteria and prevent the deterioration of infection.

Fever will usually subside on its own. However, it is important to monitor the fever and ensure that it does not go above 103 F or 39.4 C.
