6. Freezing Gait
The freezing gait is often confused with bradykinesia and muscle rigidity. However, this is a totally different symptom of Parkinson’s disease. This happens when the patient with Parkinson’s disease won’t be able to move forward as if the feet are attached to the ground.
In most cases, this symptom is temporary. Thus, some patients will think of it as a normal gait after suffering the first stride. But this symptom should not be taken lightly since it can lead to a loss of balance and will make the patient susceptible to falling. This can especially happen when the patient walks on the stairs or floors with an uneven surface.
