10. Excessive Sweating
As mentioned, Parkinson’s is the type of disease that can severely affect the patient’s nervous system. When the disease progresses to the advanced stage, several changes in the skin can take place. Some patients can experience hyperhidrosis, a condition that refers to the excessive sweating of the skin, even for no reason.
Hyperhidrosis is usually common in women, including those who do not have Parkinson’s disease. This symptom is similar to the hot flashes that women will experience when they reach the menopausal age. The excessive sweating in Parkinson’s disease may also be a side effect of some of the medications used to treat the condition.
