2. Reddish-brown Body Rashes

Reddish-brown body rashes are the most obvious sign of measles. The rashes will usually start to appear after 14 days of exposure to the virus. At the start, the rashes will appear as flat and reddish near the patient’s forehead and can spread behind the ears.

In some cases, the spots will merge and form into large freckled patches. The spots can get very itchy at time. However, you should avoid scratching it no matter what or it will leave nasty marks on the skin. Eventually, the rashes will start to spread from the forehead to the rest of the body and towards the feet. It will start spreading in only a couple of days from its first appearance. Usually, the rashes will only last for a week before it starts to fade away.
