8. Jaundice
Another symptom of liver cirrhosis is jaundice. When the red blood cells in the body are broken down, bilirubin will be produced. This substance will travel to the liver and will be immediately eliminated through stools. However, if the liver is not functioning well due to cirrhosis, bilirubin can build up in the liver.
Bilirubin is a yellowish substance that can turn the color of the skin yellow. It can also make the white portion of the eyes turn yellowish. If large quantities of bilirubin are present, it can mean that toxins in the body are not eliminated properly and this can put the patient at risk of poisoning.
