7. Difficulty Swallowing
The symptoms of hiatal hernia mostly manifest in the upper regions of the digestive system. One of these symptoms is dysphagia or the difficulty in swallowing solid foods and liquids. Patients who suffer from this symptom mostly complain of having a blockage in the throat and sometimes in the chest. Burning sensations are also felt as soon as the food or drink reaches the throat and travels through the stomach.
Dysphagia can be very irritating and frustrating as it may affect the patient’s eating habits. Consult your doctor when you encounter frequent dysphagia as it may also indicate acute disorders such as esophageal cancer.
