Glaucoma symptoms can also surface as halos. For those with angle-closure glaucoma, one of the most common symptoms that they will experience is seeing the presence of ring-like images, which experts call the “halos”. Some patients will only see the halos exclusively, especially when they are staring at light sources. But others will also see other unusual images aside from the halos.

The halos are usually round and blurry, but some patients have described that the images are “jagged”. Images that appear under direct sunlight are the ones that usually come with halos. Sometimes, these ring-like images will have a slight rainbow color at the edges.
