5. Loss of Appetite
Gastritis can affect the appetite of most people. This is usually due to physiological factors since certain foods can irritate an already inflamed stomach. Furthermore, those with gastritis are far more sensitive to certain types of foods, such as alcohol, coffee, and spicy foods. Eating these types of foods will only aggravate the symptoms.
In most cases, loss of appetite is generally temporary. Eventually, this symptom will ease as soon as the treatment begins. However, if the condition is left untreated, the loss of appetite may also come with other related symptoms such as malnutrition and weight loss. These can be serious so it is best to get treated as soon as possible.
