10. Flu-like Symptoms
Sometimes, it is difficult to distinguish the ear infection symptoms from the flu symptoms. This is not a surprise since both conditions often have similar symptoms, such as swelling, pain, and headache. Ear infection can also cause the patient to develop a runny nose. It can trigger sinus congestion, which makes the condition to appear to be like flu. Similar to having flu, patients with an ear infection need to get enough rest. The doctor may also prescribe antibiotics which helps to treat the infection and alleviate the pain.
