5. Fever
Another sign of C. diff infection is having a fever. Fever is a non-specific indication of different illnesses, disorders, and infections that are present in the body. It is not a disease itself but a method in which our body combat something that may cause further harm to us such as bacteria and viruses. When the body detects a possible threat, it automatically increases its temperature in an attempt to kill or eliminate the threat.
Though fever is not a life-threatening health status, it is important to avoid negligence, as a deeper and more serious underlying issue may be present in the body. Regular monitoring and medical attention are needed apart from taking in over-the-counter medications such as paracetamol.
