7. Dental Infections
Another possible reason for sinus infections is a dental problem. The maxillary sinus, which is considered as the largest of all sinuses, is usually involved in this case since it is very near the maxillary teeth. So if the maxillary teeth will have problems, the infection will spread easily towards the maxillary sinus.
Some experts have speculated that odontogenic sinusitis, an inflammatory condition that is a result of dental pathology, is the reason behind 40 percent of all the maxillary sinusitis cases in the world. Furthermore, people who have just undergone dental surgery will most likely suffer from sinusitis, since the surgery could rupture the Schneiderian membranes.
