3. Rapid Breathing
Another sign and symptom of sepsis is rapid breathing. One of the main functions of the blood is to carry oxygen that is needed by different organs all throughout the body. These are important in the survival and health of each cell which makes up the entire human physique. Without it, organs would not function well and may even result in death.
People with blood infection have less oxygen in the blood. When the body detects low levels of oxygen, it will prompt the lungs to work harder and therefore cause rapid breathing. Although rapid breathing can also be an indication of other respiratory illnesses, it is best to consult your doctor to see if it is triggered by a blood infection.
