6. Check your milk
Some milk contains a protein that stimulates inflammation in the intestinal tract. Actually, the proteins in cow’s milk — and their ratios — depend on the breed of cattle and how they were bred. The protein most common is A1 beta-casein. When consumed and disintegrating, A1 releases the BCM-7 peptide. It is BCM-7 that may be the culprit in inflammation. In response to this possibility, geneticists created a technique for singling out those cows whose milk is dominated by the more benign A2 protein. The A2 Milk Company is the sole distributor of A2 milk.
