People with autoimmune diseases usually avoid gluten consumption. They may do it by opting for other grains that are gluten-free such as quinoa, buckwheat, and amaranth. However, doing so may not yield complete avoidance of autoimmune disease flare-ups as some patients who religiously consume these types of grains still experience the symptoms of autoimmune diseases.
In cases wherein proper precautions are made and all known triggers are avoided but a flare-up is still experienced, it is ideal to consult your physician to determine the exact cause and how to avoid it.
