8. Food Poisoning
One of the most common stomach pain causes is food poisoning. When a person ends up eating foods that contain viruses, bacteria, and some other harmful microbes, this can lead to food poisoning, which may be the reason behind the stomach pain. There are different types food poising out there, but they all have similar symptoms. Aside from extreme pain in the stomach, food poisoning can also lead to diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, weakness, and fatigue.
In most cases, the symptoms of food poisoning will only appear for a few days and will eventually disappear after the body gets rid of the infection. However, in the most severe cases, food poisoning could lead to dehydration and may require the patient to seek medical treatment and get an IV to quickly replace the lost fluids and electrolytes.
