5. Chills

Those with walking pneumonia will also experience frequent chills. This usually occurs once the body is feeling cold. Chills happen as a result of the rapid contracting and relaxing of the muscles, a natural mechanism that the body does in order to produce heat.  Those who are suffering from chills should keep warm beverages on hand such as a glass of warn milk or herbal tea.

The presence of chills can also indicate an onset of fever. If the fever lasts more than 3 days and remains high, even after taking anti-inflammatory medicines, the patient should see a doctor immediately .
